Unknown spectaculair alternative to Inka trail (Peru)
The famous Inka trail is for most of the travellers to Peru a must. However it is a little boring, because thousands and thousands of people walk the same trail every year. Instead of doing a highly adventurous hike you're basicly following the crowd. The Chavin trail in Huarraz area is an unkown, yet very spectaculair alternative. Not desribed in the most of the guides it is not crowded. Actually you will be alone all of the 3 days walk. The trail brings you from the city of Huarraz to the famous archeological site of Chavin. You will follow a spectaculair hike through the Andes with amazing views. You can follow the trail by making an appointment at one of the hiking offices in Huarraz. (There are plenty of them.)
